Funny Stories
One story happened on a Saturday afternoon when I decided to run to good old WalMart. I was with my little brother and we were speed walking to the back because we were in a hurry. But, if any of you really know me, I will stop anything for free food. On the way to the back of the store, I see this lovely sample booth for pizza. So, of course, we stopped to get a sample. The lady who was keeping the stock of pizza samples up to consumption, all of a sudden says loudly in my face, "How old are you?" Being 23, I ignore her because she couldn't possibly be speaking to me, and I go to grab my sample and she says it again in my face, "How old are you?" I look at her puzzled and I say, "Are you talking to me?" She says, "I am just making sure that you are at least 18, because if not, then you need an adult to accompany you because you may be allergic to something in this sample." I look at her in awe and respond with my age and she was totally embarrassed. So, we got our samples and left the store laughing all of the way home.
The next story happened while I was working. I had to run to the bank. I pulled up in one of the pull throughs and I see this older guy parked in his car next to me. We had eye contact and smiled politely. I sent the deposit in and I was sitting in my car waiting. Next thing that I know, there is this terribly annoying fly in my car. I am watching it fly around hoping that it will go out of my driver's window. It ends up landing, so conveniently, on the passenger window. I am staring at it, wondering what I could hit it with. I then realized that the guy thought that I was staring at him, and not the fly on the window. I quickly look away and am avoiding and ignoring him as best as I can. This lasted only a few seconds and then the fly started on his adventure again and I started to follow his path again. The fly starts flying toward the passenger window again and I have a brilliant plan that if I have two window's open, then I have a better chance of that darn fly getting out. I start to roll the passenger window down, and again realize that the older man thinks that I am rolling the window down to talk or something. He is just staring at me and has this look on his face. I quickly roll the window back up and luckily I was saved! My deposit receipt had just come back and I sped away.
Holy Cow!! Sorry man, I wasn't staring at you...I just wanted the fly out of my car!! hahaha
UPDATE!!!
This is our cute little house! We haven't moved in yet because we are fixing some things first. We will post some before and after pictures after we are done. The house is in Provo, in a neighborhood off of Center Street on your way to the lake. So far, the neighbors are absolutely amazing! Oh, and I can't wait to invite you guys over to see it. I'll even make you dinner :)
Second: I started a new job and I love it! I work at L&T Construction in the office. I do accounting, I answer the phones, and I assist the project manager/president/v.p in whatever they need. I really like it! I still work at my old job (Prototyping Management Corp) a couple hours a week, keeping up with all of their accounting. It works out so nicely cause then I earn a little extra moola, which is always nice.
Third: McKenna, my cute sister, is ENGAGED!!! She is getting married in December and moving into the apartment that we were living in.
Anyway, that's a short update, but an update nonetheless.

WORLD CUP!!!!!! Oh, how I love this game!
It's 5:30 am and our alarm clock goes off, and for once we are able to get out of bed easily, which for me, doesn't happen very often. Why would today be any different than any other ordinary day? Well, the WORLD CUP could be the reason!!! I love events like this that bring the whole world together to unite and as you watch you want every team to do well. Of course, you have your favorites, but there usually isn't a team that you want to do terrible. It's the same with the Olympics!
I had to share this commercial because I LOVE it!! I hope you enjoy it too.

Fun times...
The Cowboy's Stadium was INCREDIBLE!! I would move to Texas just because of this stadium. BYU won, which made it an even better game!
This was also the first time that I had been to 6 Flags! That place is awesome and crazy. The rides were intense. We had a lot of fun!
This is all of us going for a midnight swim at Colleen's house. Ruggles wasn't there, typical, because he chose to go to bed. We also went to the lake and used Jet Ski's...FUN!!
Mark and I went to the Ferrari challenge and saw some sweet cars. I was actually surprised by how fun this was. We were able to see some amazing cars race around the track. I wouldn't mind having a Ferrari :)
At the beginning of May, Mark and I went to Virginia to visit Mark's family. While we were there we went to New York for two days. Sadly, I didn't take many pictures from the vacation but the few that I did take, I'll post!! The picture above makes me laugh soooooooo hard because it says, "Don't Honk, $350 Penalty." Well, if any of you have been to NY, then you will know that people drive while laying on the horn. I was laughing hysterically because we would be at a stop light and then right before it would turn green the person behind us would already be honking at us. CRAZY FREAKING DRIVERS!!! It was nice to drive and walk around NY. I really love visiting that place. We took the families van, which happens to be 6 feet 8 inches and the only places to park in NY take cars 6 feet 6 inches or lower. Needless to say, we did a lot of driving because there was no place to park.
While in Virginia we went and saw Mount Vernon (George Washington's house). This house is HUGE. He was one rich dude. It was cool to walk down the road by his house and stand in some of the same places that he stood. If you haven't been to his house, then some day you should.
This is the tomb of George Washington. I thought it was soooo crazy that such an influential person was buried right there and I was so close to him. I can't wait to meet him one day. Thursday, January 28, 2010
Summer Fun!!
This picture was taken at Pali Lookout. It's a breath taking view of part of the island.
We went to the PCC and got tat's. We are sooo hard core, huh?
This is Waimea Rock. That's Mark jumping from the top, and yes, I did jump off of it too. It took me 30 minutes of sitting there and a 10 year old girl to convince me that I could jump off and I would be ok, which is weird cause I have been skydiving :)
Just beautiful beaches and warm clear blue water.
On July 4th, we went and saw the balloons lift off and then went to the parade. It was early but very fun!! Good thing it's summer in this picture cause my legs look like I have white socks covering them. hahaha
For Mark's work, Mark, McKenna, and myself went and helped build a playground for kids with the AllStar soccer team. This was what me and McKenna helped paint. Mark build a part of the playground.
My old roommate from Hawaii came to Utah to visit and we went to the Alpine Slide, Alpine Coaster and the zipline. HOLY FUN!!! Kinda expensive but really fun. Everyone should go and do the Alpine Coaster cause it rocked.
This is us and our peeps at the Goo Goo Doll's concert
Peeps again getting ready to float the Provo river. The water was sooooooooo cold but it is a fun adventure. DC anyone?
While we visited, we were able to go and see all of the historical sites. It was sooo fun to see the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and many others. I loved being able to finally see all of the things that you learn about in class! I was even able to go see where Mark "worked" during high school - the golf course.
This statue is AWESOME! It's so much larger than you expect. You can see the little peeps standing in front of it.
This picture is kinda blurry but you get the point. This was one of my favorite things that we did while I was there. We went to the Holocaust Museum and we were able to spend a good bunch of hours wandering and reading about the Holocaust. It is incredible to me to see how Hitler convinced so many people that he was doing good but realizing how many terrible things he really did. The picture above shows the shoes to people who were killed. It was a huge room all full of shoes. It was a real eye opener. Sunday, December 6, 2009
Cancun Baby!
Here is the view from our hotel room!! It was gorgeous! The pool that you can see there was so amazing...it went to the edge and then dropped off into the ocean.
We went to the Interactive Aquarium and it was fun to see all these animals close up. We could even touch a lot of them.
This picture does not even give the experience justice. We had dinner at some really exciting places. We had dinner at this nice restaurant and we could look out into the ocean. The waiter poured our drinks by holding the can on the palm of his hand and wasn't using fingers!! It was suctioned on or something...WEIRD. We also ate dinner on a pirates ship. We sailed off into the ocean and the food was divine and while we ate, there was this whole pirate show going on. We then joined another boat and had a war. It was soooooooooooo cool!!!
We also did some excursions. We did a Chichen itza and a Jungle Tour. This is a picture of Chichen itza. I am always so impressed by the architecture of things built so long ago. Each part of the pyramid was designed for a specific reason. The number of steps, the direction of each side/corner, and the echo of things. There were lots of buildings but this was the biggest and most well known.
This picture was taken in the middle of this big field. That circle that you can see in the picture is part of this ancient game that they used to play. It was cool learning about it. I guess there were two teams and you had to throw or kick, or something impossible, into that little hole clear up on the wall. The winner would be sacrificed because they wanted to send the best offers to the Gods. Anyone want to play?? I'll even let you WIN :)
I know...this is a very flattering picture :) Another excursion that we did was this jungle tour. We were able to drive our own boats through the jungle and then we parked it in the middle of the ocean and went snorkeling!! I was scared we would be eaten by sharks, and we did see some HUGE fish but nothing that could eat us. It was sooooo beautiful.
In Cancun, you have to bargain for all your little trinkets and souvenirs. We found out that Mark and I are not that great at bargaining either. We would just look at each other and wouldn't know how to tell them that we didn't want it. Finally, we would just speed walk passed people and try to not look at anyone. It was awesome and we did end up coming home with really cool things.
One last thing before I bore everyone to death. Every morning we had breakfast at the hotel, which, by the way, was AMAZING!!! There were yummy cream cheese roll things that we ate like 50 every morning :). Before breakfast one morning, we realized that we didn't have enough money to tip, so we walked down the street to a store to pull some cash out of an ATM machine. So, we put the card into the machine and obviously the machine is in Spanish and we don't know what it says. So we kinda figure out what we are doing but then we finished and NO MONEY and NO CARD came out of the machine. We realized then, that the machine ATE our CARD!! We tried to get people to help but we didn't know what they were saying and they had us call someone, who also spoke Spanish. Needless to say, there is a machine in Cancun with our debit card :)
P.S. It is not cheap to text from Cancun to the US either.
